I Got Your Eloquence Right Here (Widow) Lady

I read a post today written by a certain Lisa Brandel on the Widow Lady which spoke to the fact that evangelical fanatic…(oops I said that out loud) minister Pat Robertson told his flock that it was okay to divorce you spouse because they suffered Alzheimer’s. The post was quite eloquent and pointed to scriptures that Pat should know which poo-pooed his notions about Christian behavior.

I applaud Lisa for her diplomacy and composure nearly to envy. I am not that reserved when it comes to obvious severe closed head injury behavior especially when the person spewing it holds influence over many people.

Historically, Patrick has claimed that bad things that befall us like AIDS, hurricanes, earthquakes, and even 911 are the fault of heathens who simply got what they deserved. I wonder if by some slim chance Pat were boycotted and his financial support disappeared (because his masses who donate are his only source of income) and he went broke and destitute…who he might blame for that…just a suggestion.

At any rate, that is my rant for today. If you are someone who reads this and somehow agrees with Patrick…WTF?

Just saying

Well, Reed, I got your eloquence..ummmm...never-mind. I try to be civil always, and give people the benefit of the doubt that there are some redeeming qualities to each person, that some how some way a closed mind might be opened with a little knowledge, education...and well I'm naive cow ;-) I had no clue he blamed those things on wrath though...But then again, I'm not too keen on insanity. *muah*

I think Pat Robertson does much to discredit the reailty that there are many level headed, rational and compassionate Christians out there. Much of what he says makes me cringe, and I think it's important that though he has many followers, fortunately, he doesn't represent all of what Christianity and other Christians have to offer.

I think I love you. Will you marry me? I mean it's not like the authorities need to know about the fact that it would make me a bigamist. Or the fact that your fiancee would complain (overly loudly). Or that it is at all incestuously creepy that you are like my long lost adoptive father. With the exception of all of that...will you still marry me? =)

That freedom of Speech can be such a double-edged sword can't it...
If I had read or heard what Pat said, well I would have read it because I don't have time to listen to the nonsensical ravings of a religious twit... I would have posted an equally vicious rant about him as well.
I believe in Karma but, saying that people deserve to be "taken out" in a heinous way is a little too insane for my tastes.

I am remiss about getting back with you folks. I apologize.

Lisa - I said what you thought, and you were very kind and smart in your approach to the subject.

Jessica - I couldn't agree with you more. Thank you!

Jewell - I am flattered...and spoken for, but thank you very much ;)

Jen - I am equally frightened by the flocks that hang on his every word...I like Karma, but wish no one harm ;)
