As is typical in Midwestern United States, the first blast of winter arrived a week before winter officially starts.
8 is a great number if it is your age…sometimes I miss being 8. 8 is great if it is the number of perfect games you have bowled. 8 is cool when it is the number of payments left on your 30 year mortgage. The number 8 as the ambient temperature outdoors…blows chunks! For you Celsius folks…that’s -13…yah it doesn’t sound any better, does it?
I drove 40 miles today on glare ice to meet with a client for 45 minutes…the drive took 4 hours. I know there are areas in the Midwest that got hit harder than us, and I feel your pain…I feel mine more…sorry.
Although I am deeply concerned about the long term effects of global warming, today I would have enjoyed the short term benefits.
I’m just saying.

Can't imagine it! I awoke and it was 14°C oooh I was cold as!!!!
Better you than me.
Cheers
Well my "adorable" weatherman just informed me that Amarillo was a chilly 71°...dammit! If my MIL didn't live in TX I would actually consider moving down there in the winter! =)
I am with you though.....I am absolutely sick to death of the cold. They keep trying to convince me that the temps are going to go up down here, but damned if it's happening fast enough in my book! COME ON SPRING!!
You make me so grateful that I live in California. Went out without a sweater today, though they forcast rain for the weekend. My biggest worry is flooding when all that snow melts in the Sierras. But for now, all's just right for December. Nothing worse when December feels like summer.
Here here! It is 5 in the morning and minus five...taking a friend to the hospital for surgery...would love some tropical weather at the moment.
Alejandro - Just a little sympathy could help :)
And for the Fahrenheit people...he said it is 57 where he is.
Jewell - I have a friend that lives near Houston, she said it was chilly there (65)...and I thought I was whining.
Margaret - I really do like 4 seasons, but this storm was harsh, and way to early. Stay warm :)
Lisa - I know you folks got a lot of the lake effect shrapnel. Keep your mittens handy :)
